We’ve been talking a lot lately about two big problems with style:
- A closet full of clothes yet nothing to wear
- Fast fashion is an industry we should stop supporting with our consumer dollars
And we’ve suggested our 4-Step Process as a solution to those problems:
- Accept that having more clothes makes it harder to get dressed, and that fast fashion has to go.
- Prune your closet.
- Adopt the capsule wardrobe.
- Move toward ethical, transparent brands for fewer, better purchases in the future.
Last week, we shared some inspo for Step 3, Dana’s Spring Capsule. And now, we want to help you get going with Step 4. Because we know you’re busy and you don’t necessarily have the time or energy to go digging around the internet to find socially responsible clothing brands. You’ve got a real job and stuff.
We decided to do the digging for you. We want to make it easy for you to shop better brands, so we’ve curated some of them right here on our site. We’ve got about five up so far but, we’re constantly seeking out more and we’ll add them as they’re discovered. By the way, let us know if you find any yourself and if possible, we’ll add them in as well!

We just want to take the guess work out of ethical shopping. We want to make it easy and fun to support brands that are making a difference in this messed up industry.
And sure, some of these brands are a bit pricier than H&M. In fact, all of them are. But, we believe that as we buy fewer, better pieces, and build effortless, capsule wardrobes, we’ll actually wind up spending less money overall.
I mean, how much have you wasted at this point on the impulse purchases gathering dust in the bowels of your closet? If you’re anything like we used to be, a lot.
So this is where we save that money and put it towards higher-quality, beautiful, classic pieces that will make leaving the house feeling confident the new norm. No more flailing about, rushing to work late and hating your outfit all day. Sounds good, right?
