Weekend Reads

WAG

Happy Friday ya’ll. It sort of feels victorious to get through this week, right? That’s December, I guess. Holiday parties with friends and coworkers, trying to stay on top of our shopping lists, and preparing for upcoming travels can add a lot to the daily grind. I hope you get some down time this weekend, whether that’s with a glass of wine on the couch tonight, a run tomorrow, or cooking a big meal on Sunday.

Here at CTK, we like to take the weekend to catch up on articles we bookmarked during the week, but never got to. Here’s what caught our eye:

I think I’ve made my stance on vegetable spiralizers pretty clear, in that it’s an over-the-top sorta love. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this list of recipes. Those butternut squash noodles (squooshdles? Nope, doesn’t work) look so good it almost makes me mad I haven’t thought of this.

This sparkly DIY candle would make a great holiday gift (budget-friendly too, holla!).

Every year on Christmas Eve, my family and our close friends bundle up to go for a walk in a neighboring town that lines the street with luminaries, and then we eat Chinese food. We always pick up take out on the way back, but THESE (although slightly different than traditional Asian egg rolls) look amazing and I think I’ll convince the fam that homemade is the route to go this year.

Ah, Darling Mag, you never cease to make me happy. In this article, the author (a personal stylist) defends fashion as an approach to individualism, a source of joy, and a way to feel the best version of yourself. Our sentiments exactly.

And finally, 29 animals that hate Christmas more than the Grinch. Because “some of your pets hate your yuletide cheer as much as you dislike cleaning up their poop.”

Enjoy!
