Weekend Reads

Hi there, weekend.  You lookin’ good, girl.

In an epic life failure this morning I left my headphones at home.  This was terrible, terrible news to me as I sat down on the ferry. You see, I’ve been binge listening to Serial this week and the final episode is out.  I was supposed to FINALLY figure out if Adnan was a guilty, sociopath or an innocent man framed for a murder he didn’t commit (do not ruin this for me if you know). But no, now I have to wait until tomorrow.  I suppose its just one more reason to look forward to the weekend though, eh?

Here’s what we’ll be diving into.

The day after Thanksgiving, I came down with an epic stomach bug/infection/doctor’s not sure what happened and I was down for the count for the better part of a week.  I actually don’t remember the last time I took 3 sick days off from work.  The silver lining though, was that I finally decided to give Scandal a go.  Queue epic binge marathon and obsession with the show.  This lead me to read up a bit on this Shonda human and all of her fabulousness.  Read her speech.  It will make you cry in a good way. It will make you want to burn your bra, put on a cape and smash through any remnants of a glass ceiling just to do right by all the trailblazing women who came before us and gave us the opportunities we have today.  Sigh.

After I finish up Serial, I plan to finally dive into Brene Brown’s Daring Greatly.  I’ve been hearing about this book for a while now and I feel like the eve of a new year is a good time to finally take it in.

Speaking of the New Year, I feel like this could provide some great inspo when deciding what you want to achieve next year, no?

BShan is planning to give this ridiculously delicious looking recipe a go.

And as you know, we love our pups around here.

So we all think you should watch this and this for a good laugh and hysterical snot cry.  Talk about feeling good?!
